Registration
The status of being "registered" in an academic session as a student at London School of Management & Science shall be achieved by meeting criteria determined by the Director of Studies from time to time, and shall require that a student
• satisfy the academic requirements for enrolment in a chosen programme
• be enrolled in an academic programme,
• and has paid fees or exhibited such other intention to pursue a course of studies as may be determined to be sufficient from time to time.
Information, Policies and Procedures Related to Student Registration
Registration is the process whereby all students formally agree with the College their approved programme of study leading to a named award. It is at Registration that the student confirms their course choices and agrees to abide by the College Regulations and the Principal Conditions of Registration.
A student will be registered on an approved programme of study following the successful completion of the College's Admissions process or, for continuing students, having satisfied progression requirements.
A student must complete all the constituent parts of the registration process before attending lectures. As evidence of completing the registration process and formally registering on an approved programme of study, students will receive a College Enrolment Letter and a Student Identification Card. Students are asked to carry this ID Card at all times and produce it upon request.
All new students will be required to provide the College with original documentary evidence of qualifications used to gain admission and proof of identity. All new students will be required to provide and confirm their personal details.
All new students will be required to participate in the induction programmes provided by the College and agree their course choices for the Academic Session.
Upon Registering, students will be issued with an approved Enrolment Letter, listing the courses on which they are studying for the Session/Semester and associated fees.
Students who are unable to complete their registration at the allocated time or by the published deadline will not have full access to College facilities. However, in exceptional circumstances students may be allowed up to a maximum of two weeks to complete their registration. Students who fail to produce the necessary documentation and/or evidence to complete their registration by the agreed deadline will have their eligibility to register removed.
Students may not register concurrently for more than one programme leading to a recognised award.
The College reserves the right to rescind the Registration Status of any student who has provided false information, made any misrepresentation and/or provided counterfeit or forged documents in respect of an application for a place at the College, tuition fees assessment, Mandatory or Discretionary Award, DfES Bursary or means-tested student financial support.
The College also reserves the right to withhold re-registration for students with outstanding financial obligations and to rescind the Registration Status of any student for the non-payment of tuition fees.
Students who formally withdraw from their studies must inform the Course Coordinator by completing the appropriate documentation, confirming the last date of attendance. Otherwise, the College will take the date of withdrawal as being the last confirmed attendance supplied by instructor.
Students are not generally entitled to change courses after Registration. However, with the agreement of the Director of Studies, changes can be made within the first two weeks of each Semester. A change or amendment to a programme is not valid until the Director of Studies has completed the appropriate authorised documentation. A student may transfer from one programme to another, subject to academic approval. Such transfers will necessitate a change to the student's registration details and require the completion of appropriate documentation duly authorised. Transfers between programmes can only occur at the end of a semester or academic year.
Please Make Sure That You:
1) Provide only true and accurate information at all stages of the application process (to the college as well as to Immigration authorities).
2) Pay course fees and request a CAS only after you have full clarity and understanding of the academic and financial requirements of the course you are committing to study. You should also be clear about the immigrations requirements for coming to the UK as a student available on the website www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk
3) Make the visa application within the validity of the CAS and enrol at the college before the last date of enrolment as specified in the CAS.
4) Advise the college of your travel dates and flight details in advance. A student sponsored by LSMS should pass through arrival border control only through a control point (airports, railway stations, ferry ports) in and around the city of London. If you need to arrive anywhere else, prior approval should be taken from the college.
5) Report to the college on the next working day after arriving in the UK, irrespective of when the course commences.
Refund Policy
Fees paid by the students are not refundable under normal circumstances. However if the student application has met all of the above criteria and the visa is still refused, the fees paid by the student will be refunded in full. PLEASE NOTE THAT FEES ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED UNDER ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE. All refunds will be made only to the student or to the sponsor who has made payments on behalf of the student.
Fee refunds where eligible are made only when the student makes a request using the fee refund request form. This should be accompanied by a copy of the visa refusal letter issued by the British High Commission.
Students can be refused entry at the Border Control Points in the UK even if they hold a valid visa. Any such incident will be treated as a visa refusal for fee refund purposes provided all the procedures outlined above have been followed.
Claims, if any, should be raised within 10 working days of refusal to refund.
